Haunted castle

It's not easy making a haunted castle when your assistant insists on eating the trees and doors.

such a great video... we made it for £500. that's goodwill for you!

posted a load of kw videos on youtube today- been meaning to do it for ages. more to come when i get round to it again! anyway, here's the presspack interview, which is really great. the boys who made this (and they really were just boys!) are so creative and full of energy... you've just got to be jealous of them!
some great bits of kw at the albert hall (be good tanyas support gig) and nice bits of her taking about leave to remain songs. the park where kw is sitting on a sofa is the same one as tobias wakes up in in his somewhere in the city video those boys like to keep it local!

how to google

i use google toolbar- when you start to type in the search box, it gives you suggestions based on popular search terms. here's what i got when i typed "how to"...

how to tie a tie
how to kiss
how to save a life lyrics
how to write a resume
how to lose weight
how to make money
how to draw
how to save a life
how to levitate
how to get pregnant

i love that levitation makes it into google users' top 10 learning aims... and that tying a tie is number1

some more holga

this is the "after" and it's so much nicer than the "before"
there was a whole crowd of people here just watching this building not being there... great.
i met someone who had brought his boy into town just for the spectacle.

free trade reflection

here's another holga image...

i put the camera on top of dave's car to keep it steady for the long exposure (about 5 seconds or something) so the result shows the reflection of the pub on the car roof. couldn't see the car roof through the viewfinder, so it's just a happy accident. we were at the free trade for graham hardy's birthday.

holga

after a million years without a posting, here's a picture of the boy taken with my new hobby/obsession (hobsession?) the lovely holga...

anyway, i think he looks like a 50s film star in this one. kath has christened it "rebel without a bucket". last sunday at alnmouth.

family visit

i thought being moody in the morning was nicotine withdrawal. it turns out i'm just like that- i'm not built for seeing some people first thing in the morning.

tricycle

amazing gig at the tricycle theatre, kilburn, last sunday. 100% accoustic- no wires, no mics, nada. kw was shitting one, but it was very cool- she did a great show.
neill maccoll came down and guested on a few songs. they've been writing together, so they played a couple of those new ones. kw and dave played one of their new songs as well.
madly, that whole thing is a really radical idea. i love that these shows can't be turned into a massive commercial enterprise. the venue just has to be really small. the tricycle seats about 250- anywhere larger and you just couldn't hear anything. they're putting these gigs on bi-monthly at the moment. go to nakednights.co.uk for details of who's on next / who's been on before. the people are doing it for the love of music. crazily, that's a rarity.
